Each year, dogs from all walks of life fall into the care of the Animal Services team. Not only does the team do a wonderful job at finding each dog their forever home, but they also work hard on educating, supporting and guiding our community dog owners.

Within Animal Services, some of their adoption dogs are extra special to different members of the team. Maybe it's their story and/or personality, but sometimes something just sticks. One of those extra special pups is a lovely GSP called Milo, who now lives the life of luxury.

“When we first met Milo, it was clear that the team at Animal Services had already done an awesome job of caring for him. We were so sad to hear of Milo's circumstances and knowing that Milo was a pup from our beloved Smudge, made it even more sad for us and we couldn't bare for anyone else to home him,” said Milo’s adopters.

“Since day one of meeting Milo we were smitten, he's a great dog, who really hadn't been given the chance to be his best. GSP's are a breed we know well and we knew Milo was about to experience so much more than he already had.”

Milo was originally surrendered to the Animal Services team. He was severely underweight and showed signs of being mis-handled. He now lives his best life on a farm where he spends his days sniffing out and chasing pests, swimming in dams, going on hunting missions through native bush, enjoying lots of cuddles from three young kids who absolutely adore him, and sleeping comfortably by the fire.

“He's a cool character to have around and is well and truly part of the family, we feel lucky to have found him!” said Milo’s adopters.

Seeing a happy ending like Milo's just makes all the hard work worth it for the team.

“People think it's hard sending our adoption dogs off to their new homes, we actually all get a little excited because we know they're getting a better second chance at life, and updates like this one just solidify that.” - Sam from Animal Services.
