You need a permit to film in most public locations in Lower Hutt.

Screen Wellington issues film permits. They work with us to make sure filming locations have been discussed with tāngata whenua and any residents, businesses, or special interest groups who could be impacted.

Once you know where you want to film, apply online for a permit.

Note: Apply early to make sure there is enough time to process your application. If your application includes road closures these can require up to six weeks notice.

Hutt City Council has identified potential payroll issues which have resulted in some employees receiving incorrect leave payments. Because of this, we are currently undertaking remediation work on our payroll system and processes.
