The severe weather has impacted roads around Lower Hutt.

Update: 10.13pm 9  August

  • A tree has come down on Mulberry Street in Maungaraki
  • There are multiple slips on Korkoro Road
  • LONDON ROAD: There is one lane closed due to a slip. Two lanes are still open to traffic (one lane in each direction). Contractors will be on site tomorrow, and there will be times throughout the day where there will be one-lane stop/go traffic management in place. Expect delays or plan to detour around London Road.
  • EASTERN HUTT ROAD: Both southbound lanes from Stokes Valley along Eastern Hutt Road are still closed due to a slip risk. One northbound lane has been converted to southbound travel. Please be patient if you are travelling through the area and follow all traffic management and signs.

For the most up to date road closures see Hutt City Council on Facebook.
