I ♥ Hutt City - the campaign
This is a council-led marketing campaign that focuses on building a positive profile of our city. It aims to raise local and regional awareness of why Hutt City is a great place to live, work and play. By building a positive profile and shouting about our attributes and qualities we want to attract talented people, brilliant ideas and long-term investments which support our strategy to be a better, stronger city.
Bring Your ♥ Home competition
Malaysian man Wallace Wai Hoe Yap has won the Bring Your ♥ Home competition sponsored by council and the Hutt News. The competition attracted 85 photo entries on council's facebook page from around the world and nearly 30,000 votes.
The prize was a single return airfare to Hutt City from anywhere in the world. Wallace will arrive in the city next year and he'll enjoy sights and activities to get a taste of our hospitality and lifestyle. The competition is part of the I ♥ Hutt City campaign aimed at reinforcing pride in the city and encouraging people to think of it as home no matter where they come from.
I ♥ Hutt City at Te Ra
In 2012 thousands of Hutt City people told council staff why they love this city at the recent Te Ra o Te Raukura Festival. Also, earlier during the weekend, the Sky Sports' commentary team of celebrities - including Keith Quinn, Mel Robinson and John McBeth - donned the "I ♥ Hutt City" t-shirts with pride at the Wellington Sevens.

People who ♥ Hutt City
The council's four-pager which features fortnightly in Hutt News includes a Hutt City champion sharing their reasons for loving this city. These people remind us about the things that make our city vibrant, fun, unique, healthy and safe. They also reinforce the positive and reflect the many faces and character of our city. In this way every person who shares their passion becomes a Hutt City champion.
