The Leisure Active Fitness Suite is Hutt City's first multi purpose fitness facility. Based at Naenae Pool and Stokes Valley pool, it is a facility that incorporate all the benefits of a modern day fitness suite with the use of a swimming pool!

Celebrate winter with a bang! The annual Petone Winter Carnival is a major one-day festival celebrating the very best of winter on the iconic Petone Foreshore.    Sportsville Hutt City

Sportsville is an exciting project for Hutt City launched earlier this year. The idea behind the initiative is to bring sports clubs together, in different locations  across the city and encourage them to share ideas, resources, knowledge and skills. The aim is to create a number of sports villages or communities where it’s easier for clubs to attract new members, offer new programmes and assist with the worries of financial uncertainly.

SWIM CITY runs a Learn to Swim Programme for all ages, from six months of age through to older adults. If you want to learn to swim, receive stroke correction or be informed on important aspects of safety in and around the water, then this is the programme for you.

Leisure Active runs 3 OSCAR approved holiday programmes spread over Lower Hutt for kids 5 -14 years old. Fun activities, great staff and in a safe environment. Regular activities on offer include: movies, swimming, mini-golf and arts ’n crafts based at four different locations throughout Lower Hutt - Maungaraki, Belmont, Gracefield and Taita. If your children are in to sports, then try the multi-sport skills programme based at Walter Nash Stadium. Kids will gain basic skills and knowledge in a number of sports like basketball, indoor soccer, indoor hockey, indoor cricket, volleyball, touch and ripper rugby.

More on Walter Nash StadiumWalter Nash Stadium is Lower Hutt's premire sporting venue for basketball, netball & volleyball. It is available for hire for sporting events, functions and special occasions. Walter Nash Stadium also offers a multi-sport skills holiday programme.  Kids will gain basic skills and knowledge in a number of sports like basketball, indoor soccer, indoor hockey, indoor cricket, volleyball, touch and ripper rugby.

Council operates two events funding schemes and also offers assistance to event organisers with planning. Leisure Active  promotes, funds and supports events in the city and produces and delivers major Council events .

The Sportshouse is a purpose-built sports administration and training facility which will house national, regional and local sports organisations. Get in to great off-road cycling adventures with our summer of cycling. There’s something for all ages, abilities and fitness levels from family fun to competitive racing. Bike the Hutt River Trail on 28 Feb

Sunday 28 February is your chance to Bike the Trail. This is a free event and part of the Hutt Valley Summer of Cycling. Bring your friends and family and enjoy an easy, flat scenic bike ride down the Hutt River Trail to Hikoikoi Reserve, Petone. Try the 2 1/2 hour ride covering 25km from Harcourt Park in Upper Hutt or the 1 hour 12km ride starting from Eastern Hutt Road in Stokes Valley. The ride will be followed by a BBQ at Hikoikoi Reserve with live music, giveaways and fun for the whole family including a trial riding display by some of the best technical and trick riders in New Zealand. RaboPlus Big Coast

The RaboPlus Big Coast – the legendary mountain bike spectacular. The RaboPlus Big Coast is your opportunity to get out on your mountain bike and participate in a phenomenon that's fast becoming legend. Over two days, this non-competitive, family-friendly event will take you through 100km of the most magnificent scenery the Wellington region has to offer, along with riders of all kinds and levels of experience. We've arranged all meals, transport of equipment and camping, so all you need to worry about is keeping the pedals turning. We've even laid on entertainment and spot prizes for the Saturday night. Lively Places - Get Active July-Sept

Lively Places is the winter version of the popular Lively Parks programme  designed to motivate Hutt Valley residents to increase their physical activity during the colder winter months. Keep an eye out in July 2010 for the next programme. 

 

 

Click to Hutt City Triathlon WebsiteThe annual Hutt City Triathlon took place on 1 Nov 2009 and is a fun, achievable event for men and women from ages 12 to over 55's. The course is made up of 4km Run, 8Km cycle and 300m swim around the Hutt Valley area.  In 2009, over 450 competitors took part!

 

 

 

Kaleidoscope Kids Fest,  6-17 July 2009Hutt City's newest kids event! The Kaleidoscope KidsFest is taking place these winter school holidays and offers two weeks of full on fun and activities, with something to suit everyone.  Whether your into arts & craft, sports, adventure or just having a great time there's loads to keep you busy and entertained during the July school holidays.
