Community Awards

The Community Awards are a celebration and combination of three significant awards in Hutt City.

Nominations are still open for the Community Awards and the Safe City Awards.

 

Community Awards

Wellington International Airport Ltd, in partnership with The Community Trust of Wellington, and the five local councils have joined together to recognise the work carried out by community groups in the wider Wellington region. The focus of the Awards is to reward the valuable contribution made by volunteers.

 

KEY FACTORS - Key factors considered during judging are: CATEGORIES - Nominations to be submitted under one of the following categories:
Volunteer input Heritage & Environment
Utilisation of resources Health & Wellbeing
Innovation and creativity Arts & Culture
Effectiveness of activities Sport & Leisure
Impact within the community Education & Child/Youth Development

 

Nominations must be made on the official form.


 

Safe City Awards


The safety awards have been developed to recognise organisations and individuals that contribute to the safety of the Lower Hutt City by helping in crime prevention and in creating a safe city.

Any not-for-profit group, organisation or individual working in the interest of the community is eligible
An individual may nominate an organisation of which they are a member
The Awards are designed to recognise past achievements
The awards do not exclude community groups who use professionals to support the delivery of services undertaken by volunteers.

Innovation and creativity Individual contribution
Effectiveness of activities Organisation contribution
Impact within the community 
Community engagement and involvement
