Hutt City Council

Visitor Market Development

The visitor centre (i-SITE) is involved with developing new products that will entice visitors to the Hutt City and surrounding areas. This involves developing new products, such as attractions and activities and looking at new sources of visitors which will allow the market to expand. Locals are the biggest source bringing visitors to the area, so the main goal is to educate them, as well as the international relations where there are a large number of tourists who come through the sister cities.

The Hutt City Ticklist” is a recent promotion aimed at every household in the Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt City regions. Local attractions and events are the main focus of the promotion which has been designed as a checklist to ‘tick off’ once visited. This is an example of one promotion which will encourage visitors into the area
